Daffodil Photography Show Classes

P1a Species Safari A photograph that captures a moment in a search for wild species daffodils in their native habitat. This can include anything from a single clump of daffodils to mountain sides or valleys covered in species.

P1c Daffodils Growing in Landscape Daffodils in landscape

P2a Composition of Daffodils. These images may be a bouquet alone or one or more daffodils with other inanimate objects which make a pleasant composition.

P2b Daffodils from Another Point of View. This includes macro, abstracted, and deconstructed images. Images are meant to show daffodils in a unique way.

P2b2 Daffodils from Another Point of View, Group 2 This second group of photos was created by randomly splitting Class p2b.

P3a Daffodils Telling a Story. Images of current life and events. Seeds, bulbs, cleaning, planting, potting, or preparing for daffodil gatherings, parades, or shows are encouraged.

P3b Daffodils Left Behind. A photograph that reveals a part of history about people that lived before us via an abandoned house, homestead, roadside, pasture or barn which is outlined by daffodils still growing.

P3c Daffodils in Historic Landmarks or Cemeteries. A photograph of daffodils planted to honor and remember a person that has passed on or daffodils planted in historical landmarks or cemeteries.

P4a Daffodils with People. People may be showing, growing, working, enjoying or posing with daffodils.

P4b Daffodils with Children. Daffodils with Children posing, showing, or photographing.

P4c Daffodils with Animals or Insects. Daffodils with Animals, Birds, Insects, and Spiders. Includes all life forms excluding people.

P5a Show bench photo of a Single Cultivar. Photos of a single or a three stem daffodil class of the same cultivar taken at a daffodil show. Each stem may have one bloom or multiple florets.

P5b Historic Daffodils Photos of a daffodil registered before 1941 or a species narcissus. This may be a single or multi stem image.

P6a Single Stem Daffodil Indoors. The background for these images should not contain other features. A single stem may have one bloom or multiple florets.

P6b Single Stem Daffodil Outdoors. The daffodil subject is still growing and had not been cut. The background for these images may contain additional features such as other garden plants.

P6b2 Single Stem Daffodil Outdoors, Group 2 This second group of photos was created by randomly splitting Class p6b.

P6c Multiple Stems of the same Daffodil Indoors. The background for these images should not contain other features.

P7 Daffodil Innovators. A photograph that recognizes a person or group of people contributing to the advancement or promotion of daffodils. Some daffodils should be in the photo, either real ones or a drawing or illustration.

P8 Youth Photographs. A photographer submitting a photograph must be under the age of 20. Youth photographers may also compete in other classes against adults.

Z1 Brooke Ager Challange The Brooke Ager Challange is a special Youth Class for photos showing blooms from the bulbs provided to children of ADS member families during 2020.

Classes may be further sub-divided as needed.
